Proverbs 23:7. “As he ( a man ) thinks in his heart so is he, “Everything begins with a thought. Sow a thought reap an action. Sow an action reap a habit. Sow a habit reap a character. Sow a character reap a destiny. Both God and the devil begin with your thought life. Think about this. Before God can reconcile or save your spirit, He must get through to your mind first. Jesus said “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.” That was the exact same message of John the Baptist. Repent – metanoia – means to change your thinking in order to produce an action.
I want to share with you something I believe is of great importance to the time we are living in. In a discourse with Jesus in John 18:38, Pontius Pilate asks an astounding question that is ringing in the world and the church today and that is this; “What is truth?” In our society there is and always has been since the inception of time a battle for truth. Today, in our society, we have what is called situational ethics versus absolute truth. Situational ethics says that truth is relative, depending on the circumstances and situations, the culture, the generation, etc.
The movie “The Passion of the Christ” has been wonderfully used of God to bring both Christians and non-Christians the reality of the suffering of Jesus in our place and the great sacrifice of our Lord at the cross. Make no mistake about it, every moment of Jesus’ life including those last twelve hours were ordered by our Heavenly Father for us and all the world. The basis of our faith however, lies in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus was not risen, then a man suffered horribly for what He believed and we are all still dead in our sins.
“You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy 2:3-4. Most Christians are offended with the idea of Christianity being warfare. However, Christianity according to the Bible is not compared to warfare, but it is WARFARE! We as Christians must be imbued with and abandoned to the war itself and the spirit of war.
Every believer is expected to walk in the power of Almighty God. Most Christians cannot see themselves doing signs, wonders, and miracles. Never measure your spirituality by the amount of miracles that happen through your life. A miracle is designed to change the life of the person that needs a miracle. It is the same with healing. It is not to prove that we are men and women of God. We are men and women of God because God says that we are.
