The Grace Of God

Ephesians 2:8-9. Everything we are, everything we have, and everything we will ever be is by God’s grace.
Grace is-Acrostic-Gods riches at Christ’s expense.
Grace is-God’s strength, might, power, ability to do what you cannot do in your own strength.
Grace is the favor of God.
Grace is the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace is the dispensation that we are now living in totally separate from the law.
Romans 4: 1-8,11:6 “And if by grace, then it is no longer works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.”
Grace is a person. Jesus Christ is Grace. John 1:14, 16-17.
The early church was prosperous and powerful because of the Grace of God.
Acts 4:32-35
v32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common.
v33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great Grace was upon them all.
v34 Neither was there any among them that lacked for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold
v35 And laid them at the apostles feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
The entire message of the New Testament is the Grace of God, the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the perfecting of the saints apart from works of the law. Our part-Act like it is so. Hebrews 10:14; Acts 20:22-24, 32.
Paul @ Iconium. Acts 14:3 “Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” What was the word that got confirmed with signs following?
Mark 16:20 “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” What word? The word of His grace. Jesus paid it all and he freely gave us all things.
Romans 8:31-32.
v31 What shall we say to these things-what things?-That he has predestined us to be called, appointed, anointed, justified, and glorified by his grace-If God be for us who can be against us?
v32 He had spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with Him also freely give us all things?
When the apostle Paul was greatly persecuted because of his gospel of grace it was that same grace that delivered him, protected him, and provided for him every time. 2 Corinthians 12:9-12.
We will never see the power of God if we don’t rely on the Grace of God. Philippians 3:9-10. We must grow in grace and move out in His strength, His power, His might, His ability-His grace.
James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
v7 Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.
v10 Humble yourselves in the sight of God and He shall lift you up.
How do we humble ourselves? 2 Timothy 2:1. We are to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Peter 3:18. We grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do the word without reservation relying totally and completely upon the Lord Jesus Christ and the person and power of the Holy Spirit, not relying on our own strength or ability but on His grace to bring it to pass.
Paul warned Christians against pride and idolatry in first Corinthians 10 reminding them that this dispensation we are living in is by grace.
First Corinthians 10:12-13.
v12 Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
v13 There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above all that you’re able but will with the temptation also make a way of escape.
How do we overcome temptation? How do we escape or what is the way of escape? It is the Grace of God!
Closing: Ephesians 1:3-14. Note verse 6&7.
He chose us to be holy, He predestined us to be sons,, He made us accepted in Christ, He redeemed us by His blood, He abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence, He made known to us His will, He gave us an inheritance, and sealed us with the Holy Spirit by His grace, His unmerited, unearned and undeserved favor as a free gift by the Spirit of grace, through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ even before time began.
Revelation 13:8 identifies Jesus as the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Behold the Lamb-Jesus-He is Grace.
