March 2014 Teaching Letter - Victory Through Redemption
1Corinthians 15:57-58 Amplified ”But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory (making us conquerors) through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord), knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile (it is never wasted or to no purpose.)” We are made to win. Victory is a redemptive blessing paid for in our behalf and in our name because of what Jesus accomplished for us. Colossians 2:9-10 “For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” We were created to be winners. Failure is not God’s will. Defeat is not in God’s vocabulary.
Doubting God’s promises, feelings of inferiority and unworthiness, or condemnation are all tactics of the enemy to swindle Christians out of the provisions God has for them. 2Corinthians 1:20” For all the promises of God in him are yes, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. ”Ephesians 1:6-8”To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he made us accepted in the beloved: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Wherein he has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence.” We have a no condemnation salvation. We are free to live by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus rather than the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2.
What you know makes the difference. 2 Peter 1:3-4 tells us that we have already obtained all things that pertain to life and godliness. We are now partakers of the divine nature. The gospel that the disciples preached was called the gospel of grace. Acts 20:24. Acts 14:3”Long time abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony to the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.” It is sad that many sermons today try to convince people that defeat is more blessed than victory or success. People are convinced that poverty and problems are “blessings in disguise” sent from the loving Father to teach us patience, humility and submission. This is why you must be convinced that God created you to be blessed, to be winners and to succeed. 3John2; 2Cor. 2:14.
We must embrace the truth that God has restored us to a place of dominion. Matthew 28:18-20; that Satan is defeated 1John 3:8 and that God is good and the devil is bad. John 10:10. Everything we have, everything we are and everything we will ever be or do and everything God does on our behalf is by grace, the finished work of Jesus at the cross. The strategy of the enemy has not changed. It is to get you to doubt or twist God’s faithfulness to Himself and to His Word. Jesus is the Captain or Commander in Chief. He is Lord! He is our standard for life and living. Salvation is an all inclusive word meaning God’s abundant living. Jesus died our death so that we might live His life. He took our defeat and gave us His success. We have His victory here and now!
Do you know the victory you have in Jesus Christ? Are you experiencing that victory today? 1) We are no longer separated from God by our sins and iniquities. 2Cor. 5:19; Hebrews 10:16-17” This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write them and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” 2) We no longer live in fear of God, uncertain about our relationship with Him. Romans 5:1”Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” 3) We are no longer dominated by sickness and disease. Isa. 53:5;Matthew 8:16-17. 4) We are no longer doomed to be destitute and in need because “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19. 5) We are no longer alone and in despair because Hebrews 13:15 tells us “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6) We are no longer defeated in life’s battles. !John4:4 “Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.”
We don’t have to live a mediocre life, but we can now live a life of excellence. All of this is through our redemption in Christ. It is included in God’s free gift of salvation. Romans 8:31” If God did not spare his only begotten Son, how shall he not also with him FREELY give us ALL things.” God’s will is total victory in every phase of our life. Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Our identification in Christ is this: His death was our death. His resurrection was our resurrection. His ascension was our ascension. His victory was our victory. Hallelujah! Amen!
