Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus cam and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” The call to make disciples is the great commission and is a command not a suggestion.
Matthew 28:18-20. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” 1 John 2:20. “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you…” 1 John 2:27. You were anointed the day you were born-again. The problem is you were taught or figured out, that the anointing only works when God wants it to work. It is true it only works when God wants it to work, but the idea is, you think God only wants it to work at times.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, are the basic tenants of the Declaration of Independence for all Americans. It is the very core of the system that governs our lives, yet interpreted through the understanding of natural man, is the foundation and eternal pathway to everlasting destruction. Yes, I’m talking about the American dream, the way it was initially intended, creates a mindset that is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ and is destroying our government, our nation, and our American church. Before you cry “anarchism”, let me explain.
Romans 5:17 “For if by one man’s offense death reigned through the one (Adam), much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ.” Our Father has destined us to reign in life not get reigned on. Christians, it’s time to TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE! You can make your life fizzle or sizzle! The word of God tells us in Revelation 1:6 that Jesus has made us kings and priests to His God and Father. Glory be to God!
The standard for success in life as measured by God is substantially different than the success measured by the world. The world’s measure of success is the amount of wealth and possessions we have stored up here. I am saddened by the quest of present day Christianity’s identification with the world’s standard of success.
“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be instant in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers: and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4.
Hebrews 12:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God,” The writer of Hebrews reminds us that those that preceded us in the Old Testament as examples of faith, were really not special people, but people that trusted a special God.
Every true Christian desires to fulfill the great commission. The greatest hindrance is fear. The fear of people and what they will say. A commission includes both the authority and the ability to carry it out. We have the authority Matthew 28:18-20) and the ability (Acts 1:8). The key is to bring Christians to a place to understand their part.
“Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89. God’s word is settled forever! He is not confused about His word nor His willingness and faithfulness to back up His word. It is now up to the church, Christians, to settle God’s word here on the earth, in their hearts. People need to understand that the trials and tribulations of life are sent to make us question God’s word and His faithfulness to back up His word. They are sent to prove our faith.
